NATIONAL AFFAIRS:
1) For the fiscal consolidation road map, NK Singh Committee established:
Under the presidency of NK Singh, the Finance Commission set up a board of trustees to establish a road map for fiscal consolidation for the Center and States and presented its first report in February 2020 to the Government of India.
Fiscal consolidation is a government strategy to minimize losses whose main purpose is to minimize the government’s administrative costs.
2) Ministry of Defence signs Rs 880 Crore deal with Israel’s Arms Industries for Negev 7.62X51 mm Light Machine Guns:
On March 19, 2020, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh affirmed a capital acquisition deal with Israel Weapons Industries, an Israeli weapons maker under which the deal requires the acquirement of 16,479 Negev 7,62X51 mm Light Machine Gun at an expense of Rs 880 crore, from the Ministry of Defence.

1) On 20 March the World Sparrow Day was celebrated:
World Sparrow Day is observed on March 20 each year and was first observed in 2010 by the Nature Forever Society (NFS) to raise awareness of the importance of sparrows and their great utilitarian survival esteems.
2) International Day of Forests observed on March 21:
Every year on March 21, the United Nations observes International Forest Day, which has been celebrated since 2012 with the goal of raising awareness and forest value, focusing on the significance of trees outside the forests and preserving forests.

NATIONAL AFFAIRS:
1) UP govt declares food grains free to poor for one month:
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has pronounced the arrangement of one-month free nourishment grains to the poor alongside Rs 1,000 as remuneration for the daily wage laborers affected by the outbreak of the dangerous infection- ‘Corona Virus’. The government has agreed that aid will be provided to the rest of the poor people and regular wagers on the advice of the officials in the region concerned.
2) Current draft procurement for defence Procedure 2020 introduced, seeks to raise outrage and add the concept of’ leasing’:

1) China does not record any new COVID domestic cases-19 for the 2nd consecutive day:
The Chinese National Health Commission reported 41 new imported cases of COVID-19 and no internal transmission cases, also documented seven more deaths but no new cases of corona virus were registered in Wuhan, where the outbreak is suspected to have occurred.
2) NASA’s CNEOS tracks 4 asteroids heading to Earth:
