NATIONAL AFFAIRS:
1) Saras Collection propelled at GeM Platform by Government:
सरस कलेक्शन को सरकार द्वारा GeM पोर्टल पर लॉन्च किया गया:
The Saras Collection was propelled on the Government and Marketplace (GeM) platform on May 4 by Minister of Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar, which means to exhibit the day by day utility items made by the Self-Help Groups (SHG) and will likewise give access to state and central government purchasers in rustic regions.
सरस संग्रह ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर द्वारा सरकारी ई बाज़ार (GeM) पोर्टल पर 4 मई को लॉन्च किया गया है। सरस कलेक्शन का उद्देश्य स्वयं सहायता समूहों (SHG) द्वारा बनाए गए दैनिक उपयोगिता उत्पादों को प्रदर्शित करना है। राज्य और केंद्र सरकार के खरीदारों के लिए ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में भी बाजार उपलब्ध कराएगा।
2) Government to convey back stranded Indian people abroad in stages as of May 7:
सरकार 7 मई से चरण में, विदेशों में फंसे भारतीय नागरिकों को वापस लाएगी:
On May 4, 2020, the Indian government declared it would bring back every Indian people abandoned abroad in stages, beginning on May 7, 2020 as the individuals who had traveled to another country for work or different reasons were trapped after national lock-downs were declared worldwide to battle COVID-19.
भारत सरकार ने 4 मई, 2020 को घोषणा की कि वह 7 मई, 2020 से शुरू होने वाले चरणों में विदेश में फंसे सभी भारतीय नागरिकों को वापस लाएगी। कई भारतीय जो काम या अन्य कारणों से विदेश गए थे, देश भर में तालाबंदी के बाद COVID -19 का मुकाबला करने की घोषणा के बाद अटक गए।
3) Center to implement Agro MSME policy concentrating on the growth of entrepreneurship:
केंद्र ने उद्यमिता विकास पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने के लिए एग्रो एमएसएमई नीति पेश की:
The Center will implement an Agro-MSME approach focusing on the growth of business in rustic, tribal, agricultural and backwoods regions for assembling merchandise utilizing nearby crude materials where the data was declared by the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of the Union.
केंद्र एक एग्रो एमएसएमई नीति लाने वाला है जो स्थानीय कच्चे माल का उपयोग करके विनिर्माण उत्पादों के लिए ग्रामीण, आदिवासी, कृषि और वन क्षेत्रों में उद्यमिता विकास पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगा। केंद्रीय सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यम (एमएसएमई) और सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग नितिन गडकरी ने केंद्रीय मंत्री द्वारा सूचना की घोषणा की।
4) Integration of Cold Chain Projects performed and completed by the center:

The Food Processing Industries Minister of the Union Harsimrat Kaur Badal held a video meeting on 4 May with the advertisers of the finished Integrated Cold Chain Projects in which the advertisers of 38 cold chain ventures took an interest in the Video conference.

5) Lt Gen Raj Shukla took over management of ARTRAC:

Lieutenant General Raj Shukla who is an alum of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla and the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun and was authorized to the Artillery Regiment in December 1982 took over order of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) on 1 May 2020.

6) PM Narendra Modi partook in the NAM Touch Party online summit:

On 4 May 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi partook in an online Non-Aligned Movement Summit (NAM) Contact Group to talk about the reaction to the continuous COVID-19 pandemic emergency commemorating the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace.
प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने जारी COVID-19 महामारी संकट की प्रतिक्रिया पर चर्चा करने के लिए 4 मई 2020 को गुटनिरपेक्ष आंदोलन (NAM) संपर्क समूह के ऑनलाइन शिखर सम्मेलन में भाग लिया। शिखर सम्मेलन ने शांति के लिए बहुपक्षवाद और कूटनीति के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस की सराहना की।

1) Indian American elected to IBRD as U.S. delegate:
भारतीय अमेरिकी IBRD में अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधि के रूप में नामांकित हुए:
Indian American Ashok Michael Pinto was elected as U.S. delegate to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for a two-year term in which U.S. President Donald Trump named him on May 4, 2020.
भारतीय अमेरिकी अशोक माइकल पिंटो को दो साल की अवधि के लिए इंटरनेशनल बैंक फॉर रिकंस्ट्रक्शन एंड डेवलपमेंट (IBRD) में अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधि के रूप में नामित किया गया है। अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प द्वारा 4 मई, 2020 को नामांकन किया गया था।
2) The 4th of May is the Global Firefighters Day:

Global Firefighters Day is celebrated on 4 May, with the intention of honoring those firemen who died while serving the community or dedicated their lives to ensure everyone’s health.

The 5 May 2020 World Asthma Day is being commended with the goal of raising awareness, treatment, and support for those influenced by asthma and supporting the individual with asthma, family, companions and carers.
विश्व अस्थमा दिवस 5 मई 2020 को मनाया जाता है। इस दिन का उद्देश्य अस्थमा से प्रभावित लोगों के लिए जागरूकता, देखभाल और समर्थन जुटाना और अस्थमा, परिवार, दोस्तों और देखभाल करने वालों के साथ सहयोग करना है।
SPORTS AFFAIRS:
1) FINA defers 2021 World Championships in Fukuoka Aquatics to May 2022:
फिना ने मई 2022 तक फुकुओका एक्वेटिक्स वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप 2021 को स्थगित कर दिया:
On 4 May following the deferment of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to 2021, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the administering body of the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) delayed the 2021 aquatic world championship, Fukuoka, Japan, to May 12 through May 29, 2022.

2) Disk hurler Sandeep Kumari suspended by WADA for 4 years following positive metenolone tests:
डिस्कस थ्रोअर संदीप कुमारी ने मेटाडोर के लिए सकारात्मक परीक्षण के बाद वाडा द्वारा 4 साल के लिए प्रतिबंध लगा दिया:
On May 2, 2020 Discus hurler Sandeep Kumari, a 27-year-old, was conceded a 4-year ban by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) after failing a drug test, regardless of the National Dope test Laboratory (NDTL) having recently esteemed her sample cleared.

NATIONAL AFFAIRS:
1) Trade Unions seeks central Rs 7,500 cash help:
ट्रेड यूनियनों ने केंद्र से 7,500 रुपये नकद सहायता की मांग की:
The central trade unions have looked for money assistance for every needy family amounting to Rs 7500 from the central government. Ten central trade unions except for RSS member Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, have together composed a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraging him to offer money support of Rs 7500 every month to each non-income family that pays charge for a range of a quarter of a year.
केंद्रीय ट्रेड यूनियनों ने सभी कमजोर परिवारों के लिए केंद्र सरकार से 7500 रुपये की नकद सहायता मांगी है। आरएसएस से जुड़े भारतीय मजदूर संघ को छोड़कर दस केंद्रीय ट्रेड यूनियनों ने संयुक्त रूप से प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को एक पत्र लिखा है जिसमें उन्हें तीन महीने की अवधि के लिए घर का भुगतान करने वाले हर गैर–आयकर कर को 7500 रुपये प्रति माह नकद सहायता देने का आग्रह किया गया है।
2) Three J&K photojournalists receive the Pulitzer 2020 Award:
जम्मू–कश्मीर के तीन फोटो जर्नलिस्टों ने पुलित्जर पुरस्कार 2020 जीता:
Three Jammu and Kashmir photojournalists have received the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in portrait photography. Yasin Dar, Mukhtar Khan and Channi Anand, who won the top distinctions, collaborated with Associated Press (AP) where the honors were virtually declared on May 5.

3) Nigah Scheme initiated by Himachal Pradesh:

Himachal Pradesh State Government is to introduce the “Nigah” plan to better sharpen and teach relatives of individuals from different states so that social distancing is viably preserved where Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has made the declaration.

4) The Center named the Secretary of Economic Affairs as Director of the Central Board of RBI:

The Government of India has appointed Tarun Bajaj, Secretary of the Ministry of Finance at the Department of Economic Affairs, as Director of the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India where Bajaj’s appointment is viable from 5 May 2020.

5) UP introduced the Ayush Kavach App to improve insusceptibility and immunity through Ayurveda:
यूपी ने आयुर्वेद के माध्यम से प्रतिरक्षा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए आयुष कवच ऐप लॉन्च किया:
The state administration of Uttar Pradesh launched the Ayush Kavach application that will include well-being related tips and data on Ayurvedic medications amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as the UP-Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath propelled the application on 5 May.

8) In Nano Science and Technology Professor Saurabh Lodha won the 2020 Young Career Award:

Professor Saurabh Lodha of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay won the Nano Science and Technology Young Career Award for the year 2020, under which the honor is established by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The honor respected his commitments, in light of two-dimensional Van der Waals materials, to the progression of rationale transistor technologies beyond silicon and nanoelectronic gadgets.
इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियरिंग, IIT बॉम्बे के प्रोफेसर सौरभ लोढ़ा को वर्ष 2020 के लिए नैनो विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी में युवा कैरियर पुरस्कार मिला। यह पुरस्कार भारत सरकार के विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग (DST) द्वारा स्थापित किया गया है। पुरस्कार ने दो आयामी वैन डेर वाल्स सामग्री के आधार पर सिलिकॉन और नैनोइलेक्ट्रोनिक उपकरणों से परे तर्क ट्रांजिस्टर प्रौद्योगिकियों के विकास में उनके योगदान को मान्यता दी।
9) Task Samudra Setu propelled by the Indian Navy:

Indian Navy initiated Operation Samudra Setu, which means Sea Bridge as a component of a national activity to repatriate Indian individuals from abroad where Indian Naval Ships (INS) Jalashwa and Magar are currently on the way to Malè, the Republic of Maldives, as a major aspect of Phase 1 to begin evacuation tasks starting at 8 May 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via a call with H.E Antonio Costa, Portugal’s Prime Minister on 5 May where the two leaders addressed to the condition of the COVID-19 pandemic and the steps that the two nations are taking to monitor their well-being and monetary effects.
प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 5 मई को पुर्तगाल के प्रधान मंत्री, एच ई एंटोनियो कोस्टा के साथ एक फोन कॉल के माध्यम से COVID-19 महामारी पर चर्चा की। दोनों नेताओं ने COVID-19 महामारी की स्थिति और दोनों देशों द्वारा उनके स्वास्थ्य और आर्थिक प्रभाव को नियंत्रित करने के लिए उठाए जा रहे कदमों पर चर्चा की।

1) Vladimir Putin has awarded North Korean pioneer Kim Jong-un a memorial World War II medal:

The Russian Embassy in Pyongyang, North Korea declared on May 5, 2020 that Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a dedicatory war award to North Korean pioneer Kim Jong-un to mark the 75th commemoration of the triumph over Nazi Germany.
