NATIONAL AFFAIRS:
1) Civil servants launch the initiative ‘CARUNA’ to counter the COVID-19 pandemic to support the efforts of the government:
Government workers through administrations like IAS, IPS and IRS have propelled a particular CARUNA project to help conservative government against COVID-19 pandemics. CARUNA means ‘Civil Services Association Reach to Support National Disasters’ propelled by Associations representing Central Civil Services officials including the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service.
2) No order from Power Ministry obtained on April 5 to shut down road lights or appliances at homes:

2) UNSC gathers ahead of schedule to talk about pandemic COVID-19:
The first meeting of the UN Security Council on the COVID-19 crisis is scheduled to take place shortly, which was revealed on April 5, 2020 by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as the coronavirus pandemic infected nearly 1.2 million people worldwide and killed about 70,000.
