NATIONAL AFFAIRS:
1) For the first time, NLC India Limited begins Coal production:
एनएलसी इंडिया लिमिटेड ने पहली बार कोयला उत्पादन शुरू किया:
For the first time, NLC India Limited has begun processing Coal from Talabira II and III Mines in Odisha which will be utilized to fulfill the requirements of its current and future coal-fired power stations. In 2016, the territory of Odisha allocated the mines to NLCIL with a yearly limit of 20 million Ton (MT).
एनएलसी इंडिया लिमिटेड ने पहली बार कोयला उत्पादन शुरू किया है। ओडिशा में तालाबीरा II और III माइंस से उत्पादित कोयले का उपयोग इसके मौजूदा और भविष्य के कोयला–आधारित बिजली संयंत्रों की आवश्यकता को पूरा करने के लिए किया जाएगा। ओडिशा राज्य ने एनएलसीआईएल को 2016 में प्रति वर्ष 20 मिलियन टन (एमटी) की क्षमता के साथ खानों को आवंटित किया था।
2) Nanomedicine is developed by SNBNCBS to modify oxidative stress to treat viral diseases like coronavirus:

Researchers at S.N. Bose National Center for Basic Sciences, Kolkata (SNBNCBS) has built up a nanomedicine that aims to treat a variety of ailments by changing the body’s oxidative stress as the work would help India combat COVID-19.

3) To track the COVID-19 hot-spots areas, Agra Smart City propelled GIS dashboard:

Uttar Pradesh, Agra Smart City, has developed a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) dashboard that will display different COVID-19 hotspots, heat maps, positive cases, recuperated cases and so on.

4) WIHG scientists show 35,000 years of river erosion in the Himalayan Ladakh:
WIHG के वैज्ञानिकों ने लद्दाख हिमालय में नदी के कटाव के 35,000 साल के इतिहास को उजागर किया है:
Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG) researchers observed rivers in Ladakh Himalaya as their research discovered the 35,000-year history of river disintegration and distinguished disintegration hotspots and large valleys that act as buffer zones.

5) Cauvery Water Management Authority was placed under the ministry of Jal Shakti:

1) The 1st of May is the International Labor Day:

2) India’s rating was downsized to “country of Particular Concern (CPC)” in the USA’s International Religious Freedom yearly report 2020:
संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका की अंतर्राष्ट्रीय धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता वार्षिक रिपोर्ट 2020 में “देश के विशेष चिंता का विषय (CPC)” में भारत की रैंक नीचे गिर गई:
This is the first time since 2004 that India has been placed in this class to commit and accept systemic and continuing with infringement of religious freedom as described in the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA), 1998.

NATIONAL AFFAIRS:
1) CSIR set up another application to assist ranchers with timely coordination’s:
CSIR ने किसानों को समय पर रसद सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए नया ऐप लॉन्च किया:
The Kisan Sabha application was propelled on 1 May 2020 by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), which will link ranchers to the administration of cargo transport and the flexibly chain in the COVID-19 lockdown.
वैज्ञानिक और औद्योगिक अनुसंधान–केंद्रीय सड़क अनुसंधान संस्थान (CSIR-CRRI) की परिषद द्वारा 1 मई, 2020 को किसान सभा का शुभारंभ किया गया। यह आवेदन COVID-19 लॉकडाउन के बीच किसानों को माल परिवहन प्रबंधन और आपूर्ति श्रृंखला से जोड़ेगा।
2) Students at Jadavpur University create devices that determine whether a coughing person is a carrier of COVID-19:
जादवपुर विश्वविद्यालय के छात्र डिवाइस का विकास करते हैं जो विश्लेषण करता है कि क्या खांसी करने वाला व्यक्ति COVID-19 वाहक है:
Students from Jadavpur University, Kolkata have created a smart gadget that will determine whether a coughing individual is a COVID-19 bearer as the two college students come from the University’s Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.

The Ministry of Shipping updated its site and released its latest form on 30 April 2020, in light of open source innovation and deployed on the Meghraj NIC cloud.

5) ECI chooses to lead Biennial Election to the Maharashtra Legislative Councils MLAs:

India’s Election Commission (ECI) agreed on 21 May 2020 to hold Biennial Elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Councils (MLCs) by the members from the Legislative Assembly (MLA).

7) The Tourism Ministry arranged a 12th Dekho Apna Desh Series webinar:

9) 200 new mandis from 7 states were added to the e-NAM site:

On 1 May 2020, 200 new mandis from seven states were added to the e-NAM site. The role was led by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister of the Union, Narendra Singh Tomar, with the goal of adding 1,000 Mandis to the Agricultural Product Marketing Platform e-NAM, which is relied upon to before long understand the dream of the Prime Minister to utilize innovation to help ranchers.
1 मई 2020 को 7 राज्यों से ई–एनएएम प्लेटफॉर्म में 200 नई मंडियों को जोड़ा गया। समारोह की अध्यक्षता केंद्रीय कृषि और किसान कल्याण मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने की। केंद्र का लक्ष्य कृषि उत्पादों के विपणन के लिए 1,000 मंडियों को ई–एनएएम प्लेटफॉर्म से जोड़ना है। यह उम्मीद की जाती है कि किसानों के लाभ के लिए प्रौद्योगिकी का उपयोग करने वाले प्रधानमंत्री के दृष्टिकोण को जल्द ही साकार किया जाएगा।

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने थाईलैंड के प्रधान मंत्री एच.ई. जनरल (सेवानिवृत्त) प्रयुत् चान–ओ–चा के साथ एक टेलीफोन पर बातचीत की। दोनों नेताओं ने COVID-19 महामारी से निपटने के लिए अपने–अपने देशों में उठाए जा रहे कदमों की जानकारी साझा की।
SPORTS AFFAIRS:
1) Sania Mirza, the first Indian to receive a Fed Cup Heart Award nomination:
सानिया मिर्ज़ा, फेड कप हार्ट अवार्ड के लिए नामांकित होने वाली पहली भारतीय हैं:
On 30 April 2020, Sania Mirza, turned into the first Indian to be selected for the Fed Cup Heart Award from the Asia/Oceania Region. The award vote opens from May 1st until May 8th.
30 अप्रैल 2020 को, सानिया मिर्ज़ा एशिया / ओशिनिया ज़ोन से फेड कप हार्ट अवार्ड के लिए नामांकित होने वाली पहली भारतीय बनीं। पुरस्कार के लिए मतदान 1 मई से 8 मई तक खुला है।
2) Australia displaces India in the men’s Test positioning for the first time since 2016:

On 1 May 2020, India lost its top spot and fell to third position(114) for the first time since 2016 in the test rankings of the International Cricket Council (ICC) as its record of 12 test triumphs and one test loss in 2016-17 was evacuated in the most recent chart as indicated by rules where Australia(116) positioned first, followed by New Zealand(115).
