Gujrat School Reopening
In view of the steady decline in cases of corona virus, the Gujarat government has decided to allow physical classes with 50 per cent attendance from July 15 for 12 class students and students of colleges and technical institutes.
Decision taken after reviewing the epidemic situation
An official release said the decision was taken after Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reviewed the epidemic situation during a meeting of the government’s core committee. Let us state that in the previous day, 56 new coronavirus cases were reported in Gujarat and one died due to infection during the day.
Schools must seek parental consent
While it has been said that physical attendance will not be mandatory for students, but if students are asked to be present in person, school and college officials will have to seek parental consent.
In Gujarat, more than 6.82 lakh students are enrolled in the 12th standard in 8333 higher secondary schools. More than 11 lakh undergraduate and diploma students are enrolled in more than 2,000 colleges and technical institutes, the publication said.
Many other states are also considering reopening schools
At the same time, apart from Gujarat, many other states are also considering reopening upper classes and colleges. The state of Haryana has also announced a resumption of schools for students in classes 9 to 12 from July 16, following a drop in cases of corona infection.
