DU ECA Admission Date Announced
Delhi University has declared the commencement of registration for admission based on extra-curricular activity quota. Candidates can apply for taking admission in the ECA quota between 01 August to 31 August 2020. For your information, let us know that Delhi University has allowed admission to the ECA quota just a few days ago. This time Delhi University had said not to take admission from ECA quota, only NCC and NSS category were to be given admission. Although this decision of DU was condemned in no time, even many big artists came out against this decision. Meanwhile, the DU withdrew its decision.
Now, not only will there be admission in the ECA category, but self-attested certificates will also be recognized. Now the candidates can apply under 14 ECA categories. The candidate will have to pay a fee of Rs 100 for these applications.
Last date for DU ECA registration 2020
For admission in the remaining DU courses like UG, PG, M.Phil, and Ph.D., in which the admission will be through the DUET exam 2020, the last date of application has been fixed as 31 July. At the same time, there is still a long time to come on the last date for admission in all the courses i.e. UG, PG, M.Phil, and Ph.D. in DU ECA quota. ECA quota can apply till 31 August. A candidate can register in a maximum of three ECA categories.
In addition, he will also have to submit a certificate in support of his skills. These certificates can be placed in a maximum of five categories, out of which admission will be given on the basis of Best Three. However, admission will be given in the event of being able to make a place in the merit list. This certificate can be any time from 01 May 2017 to 30 April 2020.
DU’s decision not to take admission in the ECA quota this year was due to Corona. In fact, due to Kovid this time it was not possible to conduct sports trials for the university.
Therefore, the university had decided that this year only the candidates will be given admission on the basis of government certificates. Since this type of certificate is not available for many activities like dance, music, theater, etc., such candidates were not getting the benefit of ECA quota for admission in DU this time. However, the situation has changed now.
