1) For the first time since World War II, Wimbledon Tennis Tournament was postponed because of COVID-19:

On April 1, 2020 Wimbledon coordinators postponed the 134th version of Wimbledon Tennis Tournament for the first time since World War II because of dangers from Coronavirus which was scheduled from June 29, 2020 to July 13, 2020 and the following release of the competition will be from June 28 to July 11, 2021.

1) Hack the Crisis India was initiated by Shri Sanjay Dhotre to resolve COVID 19 pandemic:

Shri Sanjay Dhotre, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Communications and Human Resource Development Propelled Hack the Crisis – India, an online hackathon to discover working answers to solve the COVID 19 pandemic which is a part of a worldwide activity.

2) MHRD AICTE COVID-19 Student Helpline portal initiated by the Union HRD Minister:

Students are confronting troubles because of the closure of schools and hostels because of the COVID 19 pandemic, so all India Council for Technical Education has come out with MHRD AICTE COVID-19 Student Helpline Portal to resolve issues that incorporate lodging, food, online classes, attendance, exams, scholarships, security, transportation, violence etc.

3) The associations of IAS IPS officers form Caruna an effort to counter Coronavirus:

Associations representing to Central Civil Services officials that includes the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service developed an initiative called Caruna to help and supplement the endeavors of the legislature to battle coronavirus.

4) Around 10 crore hydroxychloroquine tablets are ordered by the Union government for health employees:

Centaral Health Ministry has put a request for approximately ten crore hydroxychloroquine tablets for health services laborers from different pharmaceutical organizations and Indian Council of Medical Research has recommended the utilization of hydroxychloroquine tablets only for healthcare laborers and caregivers engaged in the diagnosis and direct connection with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients.

7) Kerala- SCTIMST joins hands to render automatic ventilators with Wipro 3D:

On April 03, 2020 taking into account expanding coronavirus cases in India, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, an organization of National Importance of the Department of Science and Technology situated in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has collaborated with ‘Wipro 3D’ to fabricate a versatile and lightweight crisis ventilator framework dependent on Artificial Manual Breathing Unit to help the breathing of the critical patients who have no access to ICU ventilators.
