DU Admissions 2020: Admission portal started
University of Delhi (DU) has started the official website for graduate admission for the upcoming batch of 2021. The registration forms that were expected to be released today have not been released yet. The university has released several email addresses and phone numbers to solve the students’ entry-related questions. The university has said that the date for starting admission will be announced soon.
This portal will update the marks for Class 12th again after exam results from 31 July to 9 August. After this, DU may issue the first cut off on August 11 as indicated by the new calendar. Note that UG admissions in DU are based on merit. Students should keep all their academic documents ready for registration.
The entire system will be affected:
There is a lockdown in view of Corona virus infection across the country. In such a situation, there will be many changes in the admissions process starting late. Like this time there will be admissions following social distancing. In such a situation, all such precautions, including travel, will be implemented, so that students from northeast or south India or eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar will not be able to come to DU any easier. According to experts, this can also have an impact on cutoff merit. Not only this, the number of SC, ST students from other states including Northeast, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh can also be reduced.
The helpline numbers for merit-based graduate admission are – 9650232137, 9582756236, 7290806670
For admission based UG admission, students can contact on 9149002539 and 9953636922.
For postgraduate, MPhil and PhD admissions questions call 9654450932
These helplines will be active from 10 am to 5 pm. Apart from this, students can also ask their questions through email. Students can contact undergraduate2020@admission.du.ac.in for undergraduate admission and pg2020@admission.du.ac.in for postgraduate admission.
Meanwhile, the High Court has said that if the students do not pass after the CBSE result, then their name will not appear in the cutoff list. The Human Resource Development Minister has said that the CBSE Class 12 result is expected to be released in late July or early August.
If experts are to be believed, the merit-based cut-off is expected to be higher this year as it is being said about the foreign students that perhaps this year their number will not be as much as in previous years, this may be the reason for corona infection.
Last year, more than 2.58 lakh applications were received for 64,000 graduate seats in the university. Since last year, DU also conducts entrance examination through National Testing Agency (NTA), whose dates are yet to be announced.
