New Panel formed conducting NEET exam
A panel has been formed under the chairmanship of a former judge of the Madras High Court to conduct the NEET exam. This committee will submit its report regarding the conduct of NEET exam in the state. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin had demanded the postponement of board exams as well as cancellation of exams like NEET 2021 and JEE. In this regard, Stalin has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealing to cancel the examinations.
Team constituted under the chairmanship of former judge of Madras High Court
A high level committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of retired judge AK Rajan to review the impact of NEET exam. Apart from Justice Rajan, eight other members have been included in this panel. This includes Dr GR Rabindranath (Doctors Association for Social Equality), Jawahar Neeson (Academician) and six top government officials. These include the Principal Secretary of the Department of Medical and Family Welfare.
Students coming from rural areas do not get admission
All parties in Tamil Nadu have come together to review the impact of NEET exam. The parties had repeatedly said that students coming from rural areas, studying in government schools and belonging to backward classes are not able to get admission in medical courses. In October last year, it had also introduced 7.5 percent reservation for government school students who cleared NEET.
