CBSE 10th board students – 30% reduction in syllabus
The Central Board of Secondary Education has cut syllabus for the examination of social science subject in all CBSE schools of the country giving big relief to the students of class X. CBSE is going to conduct the examination of social science subject for class X on 27 March 2021. For students, the board has removed a total of five units from the social science theory topics. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that in the past too, due to the unprecedented circumstances that arose in the entire country due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, the CBSE had been suggested to cut its syllabus and revise it. According to the Union Minister of Education, the working days in schools were also significantly reduced as a result of the impact of the Corona epidemic this year. Education was provided to most of the students through online medium. In such a situation, the students, parents and teachers themselves were in favor of cutting the curriculum keeping in mind the interests of the students.
The CBSE has given a cut of 30 percent in various subjects as per the instruction given by the Education Minister to cut syllabus. The part deducted from the syllabus will not be included in the board papers. Internal assessment of examinations based on revised syllabus has also been said. Teachers and school principals have been asked to ensure that students are informed in detail and in a clear way the residual syllabus of the subjects. According to the Education Minister, keeping in mind the circumstances arising out of the Corona epidemic, several academicians from across the country were asked for their suggestions regarding the reduction in syllabus of subjects. About 150 academics from different parts of the country have sent their suggestions in this regard.
